Resources The Recovery Bridge Community supports and assists people to broaden and deepen their spiritual experience through continuing study and practice of 12-Step principles in order to bring greater wisdom and compassion into the world. Low-Cost Long Distance Telephone Plans In the first days of The Recovery Bridge Community, people interested in attending "meetings on the phone" asked how we would respond to those who were concerned about long distance charges associated with going to a meeting on the phone. Our research shows that with the competitive environment present in the telecommunication industry, local telephone companies offer "unlimited" domestic long distance calling plans at highly reduced rates (often less than $10.00 per month) when bundled together with local services. Here's one example: Recently one of the founders of The Recovery Bridge Community reviewed his residential phone service with SBC (the local phone company in San Francisco) and AT&T (his previous long distance provider). By consolidating phone service with SBC, he reduced his monthly telephone bill by over 65%, including adding unlimited domestic long distance for $9.95 per month. We are surveying the other domestic local phone companies in the U.S. so that we can provide you with direct links to the information they provide that describes low-cost long distance calling plans. We encourage you to contact your local telephone provider to determine the plan that is best for you. And, we look forward to hearing on one of The Recovery Bridge Community meetings "on the phone."
